陆春涛近期的视觉表达更带有一种当代的情理和韵致，虽然其视觉描述的对象一如既往延续的是对荷花的关注，但画里画外透露着的却是一个当代人对当代社会和艺术人生的真诚思考和激情表达，虽然陆春涛不厌其烦地在进行荷花的视觉讲述，但不难发现，他于平和的讲述中，删繁就简，于平淡中能够出新奇，其构图的大胆与突破，面对平淡、平常、朴素的荷花、荷叶、荷枝，他不仅“每遇一图，必立一意”，而且深谙“境贵于深，不曲不深也，意贵乎远，不静不远也”之理。他的用色更加单纯，特别是对黑、红、绿的合理调度，使其视觉图像充斥着一种诡异之境，静穆、单纯、隽永、大气，使散乱中不乏统一和秩序，水天一色，天人交响，传达出一种个人的浪漫情怀和自然相融合的浪漫幻境。陆春涛近期的视觉转向于超越，既源于他个人的不断游历与勤奋探索，更是他内心的一种对自然渴望的油然而生。他希冀编织一个充满着梦幻般的、弥漫着强烈视觉记忆的文化理想国，这是对传统文化精神和已逝的田园风光的记忆与守望，更是对都市文化及都市化进程所带来的反思与激情表述，但陆春涛并没有真的回归传统，而是有效利用荷花所寄寓的人文情怀进行当代的表达，其真实意图也是在彰显自我的一种精神表达立场。

　　Lu Chuntao’s recent ink and wash paintings implicate contemporary characters of visual expression. The subject remains to be the louts, but we can tell from his paintings that they have shown us the painter’s sincere thoughts and passionate feelings about current society and his own art career.It is not difficult to detect that his narrative language of painting seems rather simple and fluent which enable him to be standout in those ordinary ink and wash paintings with the subject of lotus. His boldness and unique method for picture composition present us a landscape of naive flowers, leaves and branches. Lu Chuntao has set each a differentiated tone for each painting by practicing the profound and peaceful principles. The colors he has adopted appear to be more pure with a balance in black, red and green to offer us a mysterious landscape. His paintings deliver a feeling combined silence, simplicity, profoundness and harmony between nature and human beings, which is full of romance and fantasy. His recent changes and breakthroughs in visual expression are due to his diligent learning and frequent traveling. Holding an intuitive desire for returning to nature, Lu Chuntao has created an ideal cultural land where dreams and visual memories are ubiquitous. This is an action of defending the disappearing countryside sceneries and of reflecting the modern life in the modernization of cities. He has not stuck to the traditional Chinese painting styles or techniques, but he intends to express his spiritual standpoint and concerns over the human life by adopting the lotus as his subject in ink and wash paintings.
